FIRST AID FOR
PARENTS

departments could have been treated or improved at home with
basic First
Aid?
Help Me To Parent are
offering First Aid
courses for parents. These courses will give you skills to
ensure the safety of your family including babies and
adults. Courses are delivered by a
fully
qualified OFFAA (Occupational First Aid
Assessment Agency) registered
instructor.
The course runs from 9.30am to
4.30pm and the morning will cover theory and skills in the
topics below. After lunch you have the opportunity to practice
some of the techniques learned in the morning and also to learn
CPR (CardioPulmonary Resuscitation) with practice on both adult
and child dummies.
Course
Topics Include:
First Aid
Kit - What's in it and how to
use it.
C.P.R. - Learn what to do when
someone stops breathing.
Choking - Know what to do if a
child or adult chokes.
Unconscious
Patient - Learn the recovery
position.
Shock - Recognise and treat this
condition.
Burns &
Poisons - Treat your child or adult
family member.
Meningitis
- Recognise
and react to this illness.
Muscular Skeletal
Injuries - Breaks,
Dislocations, Sprains.
Head
Injuries - Know when you should go
to the hospital.
Electrical
Injuries - Protect yourself while
treating the injured.
Wounds &
Bleeding - From nose bleeds to
falls, learn it all.
